Retro 60’s and 70’s Themed Parties
Retro Party The theme is 60s, 70s. The invitations should be sent early with instructions. Guests have to dress in fashion, guests can enter a lip sync contest to an old fav song. Best costume award is given. Decoration: flower power, bright colors, beads, disco ball, pop idols and gameroom (where you can have retro Olympics: (hula hoop; tidily winks; pick up sticks; Twister; Limbo etc)… trivia: name that old cartoon or t.v. show) Beaded curtains.
Also find a DJ who played seventies music thru the evening and Maybe find one that has his own “name that TV theme song game.” Prizes and goody bags … all retro: slinky, paper dolls, trolls, albums, posters Retro wrapped Personalized Candy bars, etc. (Remember the POP ROCKS!)
60’s Hippie party with tie dye shirts … lotsa Peace signs … smilie faces … black light posters … black lights, lava lamps.
Food: Soda’s in COKE glasses (from a dollar tree or target) … Bundt cake … Jello (molded) preferably GREEN … taco bar … Fondue … deepfried veggies (mushrooms & cauliflower were very popular) served with Ranch Dip … “squirty cheese” on crackers … fruit “boats” (dug out watermellon filled with melon balled fruit)
Swedish meatballs & little smokies in BBQ in crockpot.
